CIS courses taken at PCCC: CIS 125
Courses I’m taking Fall 2004: CIS 152, HS 101
Current Major: CIS
Computer experience: I started with computers in the 1980s in BASIC programming. I have previously taken courses in computer applications, web design, Visual Basic and another programming language that I do not remember. I worked in the computer room for The Home Depot for years and was responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and software. I have installed hard drives, memory, floppy drives, CD burners, Ethernet cards and created a wireless network in my home with my desk PC and laptop.
Current employment: I am an Instructional Assistant in the Paterson Public School system, an Assistant Football Coach at Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ and an usher at Giants Stadium.
What I want to learn in CIS 152: I want to learn everything. I have web design courses, but they were not intensive. I want to really know everything there is to know about computers in general and the Internet in particular.
Why I am taking computer classes:Again, I want to know everything. Most of my computer experience comes from reading books and experimenting by trying things and taking computers apart. I want formal knowledge on what I think is my passion: computers. I want to be able to use the knowledge I gain in my own classroom. Since, computers are a major part of our current future, I deem it necessary to be knowledgeable and to prepare others.
